Through the acquisition of Inntal Pflegeheime GmbH, carried out by Charleston, KOS expands its presence in Germany.
The Charleston Group has taken over the operation of further two care homes in the Munich metropolitan area. The “Sonnengarten” senior citizens’ centre in Mühldorf am Inn and the “Bayerischer Hof” retirement home in Waldkraiburg will be managed under the Charleston brand in future. The change of operator also involves the transfer of the entire existing workforce of 230 employees to the Charleston Group, which is continuing on its growth path with this transaction.

The two care facilities have a total of 211 beds. This represents a further significant expansion of the Charleston Group’s capacity in Bavaria with a focus on the Munich metropolitan area. Throughout Germany, more than 4,000 employees look after people in need of care on an in-and outpatient basis. Following the acquisition of the “Sonnengarten” and the “Bayerischer Hof”, the Füssen-based company will operate facilities at 49 locations with more than 4,250 care places.
At the same time as transferring operational responsibility for the facilities in Mühldorf am Inn and Waldkraiburg, Inntal Pflegeheime GmbH also sold the corresponding properties to Hemsö, a Swedish investor in properties for public use. Charleston has concluded long-term rental agreements with Hemsö for both properties.
