The group extended its services in the Lazio region in February 2018 through the acquisition of the Sant’Alessandro psychiatric nursing home in Rome. The home has operated in the field of neuropsychiatric disorders since its opening in 1973.
The facility (which takes its name from the nearby ancient church of Sant'Alessandro) has 60 beds licensed for psychiatric and social rehabilitation therapy. Kos plans to expand the facilities to meet the growing needs of the territory through an approach of integration and subsidiarity with the regional health system. A major refurbishing project is currently under way that will increase the number of beds by 23 units.
The home is a modern construction with a total floor area of over 1300 square metres on four floors. It is surrounded by large grounds and has been carefully designed to maximise accessibility through the elimination of architectural barriers.
The Sant’Alessandro nursing home is located at Via Nomentana, no. 1362 and lies in the area administered by local health authority ASL Roma 1 (Central Rome and northern districts).
